Questions About Dubai Jobs Tips

Thomas asks…

What to expect living in Dubai?

I just got a job as cabin crew and will move to Dubai in two weeks. I have never been and have hear a lot of mixed opinions, do you really have to cover your arms and is the dress code very conservative? Any tips anyone can give on Dubai would be a help.

admin answers:

You don’t have to cover up your arms there, although singlet tops and low cut tops aren’t acceptable. If you cover your shoulders and don’t show any cleavage you’ll be fine. Also stay away from wearing fitted/tight clothes. You’d be better off wearing loose items – this will also save you a lot of staring from the locals. Um if you’re wearing skirts and shorts – best keep them to the knee.

I can’t really think of anything else atm sorry. I have been to Dubai before and have grown up with a Middle Eastern family in Australia so yeah, just from personal experience I would advise you to really take note of what you wear before going out. I must admit though that Dubai isn’t like Saudi Arabia (where you have to cover up all the time in public as a woman) but there still is that culture shock.

I got a teaching position and am moving there in August. I have found this webpage has proven to be really helpful with other things such as where to go, expenses etc etc:

Hope this helps! Good luck with your work!

Mary asks…

Friend wants a Nose job (Dubai)?

My friend hates her nose and wants to get a nose job. So I thought I’d find out a little more about Nose Jobs in Dubai o.o..First of all she’s 16 so would the clinic or wherever people get nose jobs in Dubai agree to fix her nose or would she have to be older (like 18)? I think she wanted to fix the bottom (or tip) of her nose. I’m not sure..anyways around how much would a nose job cost in Dubai and where (with or without parental consent) would she be able to get one safely if they do give 16 year old girls nose jobs?

Sorry for the huge paragraph (:

admin answers:

First of all, if a person wants to change something with the body, face, etc, it should be left up to the person only and not judged by other people.

Well, to answer your question, there is “Dubai Cosmetic Surgery” with it’s specialits. This is the place I would go to. A responsible cosmetic surgeon would not change her nose not fitting her face anymore. They also can show your friend an animation how she would look like with her “new” nose.

Your friend is only 16 years old an would need her parents permission to undergo surgery as a minor. You also have to take into consideration, that girls this age would love to look like maybe a certain celebry, actor or model and later laugh about it. I don’t know how her nose looks like, but as long as there isn’t really something wrong with it, take her to a cosmetic specialist. There are many tips and tricks to cover things and change their looks by using the right cosmetic/colour.

Why don’t you ask in another section (beauty, etc) for Yahoo members who had a nose job done to share their experience?

Take care.
