Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Quantity Survey will play a key role in the review and reconciliation of estimates pertaining to claims for project costs, bills of quantities and other tender documents. The person will be liable for cost control, resolution of contractual claims, and settlement of final accounting.

KEY RESULT AREAS

·         Assisting in maximising profitability gains for ACTION through effective cost control

·         Estimating project costs and other related contractual documents

·         Developing project documentation in line with ACTION policies and procedures

·         Maintaining standards for contract management and projects

·         Following company best practices in project evaluation

·         Managing risk and cost control throughout the project until completion

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Familiarization and review of the Contract- Highlight Key points in the Contract, Scope of Works and Responsibilities, Plans and drawings, BOQ, Payment Terms, Submission Requirements (Insurances, Bonds, etc.)

·         Monitoring of status and accomplishment, review and package documentation and generation of reports to support claims and invoicing

·         Assist in the evaluation of early warning / compensation events, including documentation to support claims for variation works

·         Review of invoices to ensure it conformity of billing format, correct scope or coverage, and correct amounts

·         Review and reconciliation of variances in payments against claim amount including packaging of supporting documents

·         Assist the Contract/ Sales Engineers or AR in sit down / negotiation with the Client to reconcile variance or disputes in claims

·         Assist the Contract/ Sales Engineers or AR in reconciliation of final claims including documentation, or packaging of necessary submittals for subcontract close out

·         Prepare prime cost estimates and maintain control of all ongoing projects

·         Create reports on detailed sub-contract and material adjudication

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION

·         Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Science or equivalent

·         Diploma in Surveying/Engineering or MRICS or equivalent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

·         3-6 years of experience in cost/quantity surveying, cost control, and contract administration in civil/ mechanical/building engineering works

·         1-3 years of GCC experience an advantage
