Construction Management Jobs in India?
I am an American Civil Engineer and have over 10 years of construction management experience in the US mostly working for the government building roads and bridges as a Resident Engineer. I have American PE license. I’ve been working in Dubai for the last few months and finding it difficult to maintain my American life style let alone any savings due to extremely high cost of living. My question to all my Indian based friends, how is the CM job market in India? What kind of salary can an American with SA heritage expect in India? What would be the best place to target e-g big metropolisis? How about cost of living, schooling for kids, working conditions etc etc? Are there any American schools in India? What would be the best way to find a job in India, e-g recruitment agencies? My main goal is to save as much as I can for a few years tax free and then go back to the US

Is the USA the next Soviet Union?
The soviet Union use to be a super-power. Due to failed policies and leadership it imploded, it’s citizens went everywhere looking for jobs, educated folks now doing janitorial, construction labor and so on. I went to Dubai and all the whor++ were from Russia.
Do you think our Yankee empire has crumbled and soon we the Americans will be standing in street corners of Sweden, Norway France and Germany looking for work, the American women will be subject to prostitution and internet marriage catalog? Is destitution imminent for Americans?

There are serious structural problems with the U.S. Economy that consumer spending is not going to fix.
For example, health care costs 16.6% of our GDP, almost twice as that for other industrialized countries.
The cost of government at the federal, state and local governments is going up as opportunities for well paid bureaucrats expand.
We turned into a “service economy” decades ago, and much of the ability to produce large scale capital equipment in this country was lost
We have a high percentage of lawyers relative to our population, and that creates more problems for the economy, whether they work in private practice or for government.
Much of our infrastructure is antiquated, but there does not seem to be the political will to spend public money on that.
Our education system leaves much to be desired, especially in the sciences and math, in which Asian people excel over American students.
When the government concentrates on job creation, generally the jobs created are not a plus for the economy, just more overhead.
The country is addicted to debt and consumerism.
Our public debt is astronomical.

How can i get a job in DUBAI?
Being unemployed in the UK for 2 month and having applied for many jobs sadly ive not been able to secure one. There are 300 people applying for the same job and its tough out there. So i have decided to look overseas 
Im looking for work in Dubai i have no degree how can i find work? Ive worked in Banking, Business Admin, Sales, Customer Service, Telesales and worked in Recruitment for the NHS My last position was Sales Manager for retail Outlet.
Does anyone know how i can apply for work in Dubai? or can you give me any advice on the situation out there?

There is 6 months ban, to Change job Dubai to sharjah?
I have dubai employmnet visa now as sales representavte,expirng on jan 2010, my company cant renew there trade lisence bcuz of finincial reasons,and dint give salary from 8months, i got offer in sharjah with post of manager, so iwant to know when i cancel my visa put six months ban on me or not? or without noc can i able change job or not?

By not paying you for 8 months (why are you still with this company?) this company violated the UAE Labor Law and therefore you do not need a NoC.
You have to get in touch with the Ministry of Labor, explain your situation and apply for waiving the ban period.

I prefer to be a sales or marketing manager or a manager at a restaurant / cafe. I also dont mind being a sales or marekting executive. Also dont mind being a driver for a wealthy arab who would pay me upto $3000 a month ($100 daily), since my driving is very very good.

Thats funny actually.. One of my favorite teachers is over there from america(where i am & he was) & he always dreamed of teaching over seas & hes a great person & absolutly loves it. Why dont you consider teaching?! Take a few classes or something & youll land yourself a nice job. Kids are great & all, but its gotta be your thing. Its hard to just jump in & try & start to ‘love ‘ kids..he teaches little one now(he was my high school law studies teacher) & just loves it. He always use to tell me since freshman year how much he wanted to go over seas & do some good for the world & teach them how to love everyone for who they are & not where theyre from. Hes a wonderful person & he is greatly missed, but at least we know hes doing what he loves so that makes me feel better. I wish you the best of luck buddy!

I need some advice on what type of job i should do in UAE. If I become a driver for a wealthy arab, how much can i earn ? & how much will i be able to earn if i become a sales executive / sales manager or computer operator.

Firstly it is a myth that working for an arab family will benefit you, most of them may be nice people but not necessarily.
Most drivers here are Pakistani’s and they dont make much mainly because of the high cost of living in the past year or so. Dubai was not so expensive before as it is now. Working for a wealthy family will get you around 2500 to 3000 dirhams and might be given accomodation and food with that. As for salesman u have to have a driving licence and you should know the market well. Most sales jobs are commission+ salary with targets. First thing first u should have some one you know here to help with your stay till you find a job or to take you around as cabs are very expensive and the bus service is hopeless. Computer operator may not be enough an added course or some added qualification may help you that may give you a atart of 3000 or so, but rents are extremely high and you do have to share your living space to meet the rent. Well, Finding jobs in Dubai is a big problem nowadays because of the poor economic conditions over there but all this is temporary therefore, there is no need to be frustrated and I know of a good site http://www.datadubai.com/United_Arab_Emirates/Dubai/Jobs/15451-1457.html for finding reasonable jobs in Dubai. If you are willing to pay for any recruitment agency you are a potential victim of a scam. Regarding UAE Law all hiring costs have to be paid by the employer. Means – recruitment agancies located in the UAE are not allowed to take any fees from job seekers. But – there are many agencies located in foreign countries which offer not existing jobs in the UAE and will charge you.
