I’m thinking of becoming a Lawyer/Businessman, good career choice?
My Grandfather was one too. He said Law School isn’t easy and in order to make BIG bucks you must be sharp as a tack. he also was a really good Businessman doing trade in Dubai, even when he was working as a Lawyer. Once he got a Job in Dubai,he left the firm and now lives in Dubai. So I’m thinking of doing something like that? Is it a good choice? or are jobs hard 2 get?

Law was once a profession that was honorable and noble. It paid well, and all lawyers had the prospect of some type of employment in the legal field. It’s not the case today. Every year, 40,000 people graduate from law school competing for the few jobs that are out there. Many of them are highly qualified without a doubt, but with odds like those, employers hold all the bargaining chips. They can: (1) lower the starting salary. Watch craigslist and other job postings. Some lawyers will start at $35-40k. That’s lousy for 7 years of postsecondary education. Competition is fierce for lawyer jobs that pay $0.

But what you should think about are three years and at least $100k you will spend in a legal education. That doesn’t include lost wage opportunities or the money you could have been making in lieu of law school. Just note that you could be doing better than $35k without a law or even a bachelor degree!

How can a British expat go about getting a job in Dubai? Ive tried emirates careers, but have not heard anythink from them. I have no experiance in working in an airport, although I have the right degree for an airport job. In addition have 6 years of customer service experiance.

I have received job visa for Dubai through email. Would it be enough to show this at Dubai Airport?
I mean to ask that Email copy of Job visa is acceptable at Dubai Airport? Or do I need a Fax Visa Copy? Thanks.

Yes that is enough unless it is required from your origin country to show the original (e.g. India and Philippines). If it is not required, you can take the copy and the sponsor will drop your original visa at the visa counter in Dubai airport. You can pick up your original visa upon showing your visa copy and passport, right before you do your eye scan and immigration check.

I m working in MNC and holds Dubai Visa, If i want to resign the present company and move to some company in JEBEL ALI FREE ZONE than will they put ban on my VISA.
My Present company dont have policy of putting ban but is there any possible way that i will be banned to enter and work in JEBEL ALI FREE ZONE

Doesn’t matter the company puts ban or not. At the time of visa/labor card cancellation, there is an automatically work permit ban from Ministry of Labor. There are two facts, everyone must know:
1) Dubai distributes into 2 zones: Free zone & labor zone. If anyone has free zone visa (under the fully administration of DNRD – Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department), there is no ban on the person. He/she can transfer between the zones without having ban or without paying extra fees.
2) If the person has labor zone visa (under the Ministry of Labor) then at the time of cancellation, there is an automatically ban. But the person can get the job in free zone without producing NOC and without paying ban amount.

How long does it take to process Dubai Free Zone employment visa?
Hi,
I had got an job offer in January from an organization based out of Dubai free zone and have accepted the offer and submitted the attested degree certificate from India and the necessary documents to the organization one month back. When I had contacted the organization they told me that the visa is still under process. Normally free zone visas are processed faster,Now I’m worried as its more than a month. How long does it take to process a Dubai free zone visa?

With in i week u vl get the visa.Then with in 15 days take medical and submit report another one week your visa will be stamped on your passport.later apply for Labour card.With in 1 month you will get that too.
Some case it will be late.Any company documents are expired,then that should be renewed first.If there is any fines to company from govt.dept.that should be paid.Or your PRO will be on leave then it will be late.Or there is visa quoto for companies may be this is full.May be company appointed you bcoz one person resigned.And his visa cancellation process will be on pending.After that u will get the visa.Exactly we cannot trace what is the real reason.It is only one month and they told u visa under process.I suggest u had better wait little more…
