RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is one of the world’s premier integrated liquefied natural gas (LNG) enterprises and has an enviable reputation for being a safe and reliable supplier of LNG that has transformed a regional resource into a key component of the global energy mix.

Since its creation in 1993, RasGas has developed world-class facilities for the extraction, storage, processing and export of LNG, and has entered into long-term agreements to supply LNG to customers in Korea, India, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Taiwan, and the United States of America.

In a relatively short period of time, RasGas has emerged as a leading player in the global natural gas industry, supplying and delivering LNG to an international portfolio of customers, with a fleet of long-term chartered LNG tankers and initiating technology-led projects such as the production and sale of helium.

The significance of Qatar’s energy resources and of the part played by RasGas in extracting and distributing those resources continues to grow. In 2010 RasGas’ seventh LNG train came online, boosting the overall LNG production capacity of RasGas to approximately 36.3 million tonnes of LNG per annum (Mta).

Job Description

·        Advises and assists RasGas Company Ltd for purposes of safeguarding life and property against fire, explosion, and related hazards:

·        Makes studies of industrial, commercial, other property before and after construction, considering factors, such as fire resistance of construction materials, usage or contents of buildings, water supplies and water delivery, and egress facilities.

·        Designs and recommends materials or equipment, such as structural components protection, fire-detection equipment, alarm systems, fire extinguishing devices and systems, and advises on location, handling, installation, and maintenance.

·        Ensures that inspection, testing and audit of fire prevention systems are carried out and recommendations for improvement are put into operation.

·        Recommends materials, equipment, or methods for improvement of conditions conducive to fire prevention.

·        Devises fire protection programs, organizes and educate personnel to carry out such programs.

·        Will evaluate RasGas Company Ltd and the fire departments and adequacy in relation to laws and regulations affecting fire prevention and fire safety.

·         Conducts research and tests on fire retardants and fire safety of materials and devices and to determine fire causes and methods of fire prevention.

·         Will investigate fire causation and implement lessons learned to ensure fire prevention.
