Qualifications: 1+ years of medical assisting experience in acute care setting, exercise training, treadmill testing, EKG’s, phlebotomy & cardiology. MA cert and ACLS preferred. ECG interpretation, holter and event hook up skills and CPR cert req.

EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) employees have the opportunity to apply for an employer-sponsored scholarship program for positions deemed hard to fill, such as nursing, radiology and respiratory.
* Employees must be in a full or part-time benefits eligible status and in good standing with CHW. At least 12 months of continuous employment is required.
* All prerequisites must be completed and proof of acceptance into a qualified degree program must be provided upon completing the application.
* If selected, employees will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and will be allowed to use education hours to bring the remaining hours up to their regularly scheduled number of hours.
* Tuition, fees and required textbooks will be paid up to $5,250 per calendar year by CHW.
* Recipients must provide their grades to Human Resources at the end of each semester, along with a schedule of classes for the following semester, in order to remain in the program. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is required.
* There is a 36-month employment commitment to CHW following completion of the qualified degree program. Applications are available through the Human Resources Department.

The Roadways to Healthcare Careers program provides students with a first-hand look at the healthcare profession through an innovative curriculum designed to illustrate career possibilities. This scholarship is available to CHW employees, as well as external candidates.
* If the applicant is an employee, they must be in a full or part-time benefits eligible status and in good standing with CHW. At least 12 months of continuous employment is required.
* Applicants with an interest in hard to fill positions, such as nursing, radiology and respiratory, will receive priority consideration.
* All prerequisites must be completed at the time of application. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required to apply and remain within the program.
* This scholarship pays all tuition costs in addition to providing additional support such as mentoring, advocacy, professional development and networking opportunities.
* Applicants must make a 36-month employment commitment to CHW following completion of the qualified degree program.

VOLUNTEER SERVICES SCHOLARSHIP
CHW’s Volunteer Services provides a scholarship to any student seeking a post-high-school education in a healthcare field.
* To qualify, students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 in high school or other school of higher learning.
* Students must attend an NCAA-accredited college, university, or institution of higher learning within the state of Arizona.
* The student must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours.
* Primary consideration will be given to applicants residing in the East Valley service area, as well as those who have volunteered or are volunteering at one of our facilities.
* Scholarships will be awarded based on past academic performance, healthcare career goals, completion of the application process and prior volunteer involvement. Scholarships range from $250 to $1,000 per semester. Applications are available beginning March 1st and must be received or postmarked by April 20th. No exceptions will be made.
