Position Summary:
A registered professional nurse who provides direct patient care and coordinates patient care-related activities. Nursing care given to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

Qualifications:
* 3-4 year General Nursing Diploma / Degree of not less than 3 years duration of study plus Midwifery certificate
* or diploma of not less than 12 months or Direct entry midwifery degree of not less than 3 years for Midwife.
* Minimum of two (2) years experience in the filled of specialty post registration
* At least two (2) years of recent post-graduate midwifery experience – including labour and delivery for Midwife
* Current license to practice nursing in home country
* BCLS certification desirable
* Private hospital experience desirable

Title: Critical Care/Intensivist

The Rashid Hospital is a 600-bed tertiary-care hospital. The Rashid Trauma Centre is part of the Rashid Hospital. It houses facilities for emergency medicine, surgery, and ICU and treats adults and children suffering multiple traumas. The Trauma Centre has approximately 135,000 ER patient visits per year, with an admission rate of approximately 10%.
Responsibilities:
-Manages and provides direct patient care, medical direction and advice within the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
-Promotes the highest standards of care within the resources available.
-Administratively responsible for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
-Provides training CME opportunities, clinical guidance to medical staff in Rashid Hospital Trauma Centre.
- Provides leadership and quality initiatives.
-Participates actively in daily unit management activities with the nurse manager to ensure efficient, timely and consistent delivery of Surgical ICU services to the patients.
-Responsible for development of policies and procedures as appropriate
-Responsible for quality improvement initiatives and development of Key Performance Indicators.
Requirements:
-MD degree
-Post-Graduate qualification in specialty such as Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Surgery, Respirology or Anaesthesia
-American Boards or FRCSC
-Active Registration to Practice Medicine
-Current ACLS certification.
-Minimum five (5) years experience in an active treatment hospital (in North America) within his/her specialty
-Previous management of a multi-specialty critical care environment required
-Instructor level BCLS/ACLS is desirable
