IT Operations Manager – To £70k -North  London

The Profile
The Ideal IT operations Manager will have an IT related degree with experience with COBIT and ITIL. The IT operations Manager should have the ability to conduct and direct research into IT infrastructure and service issues and products as required as well as the ability to conform to shifting priorities in spending strategies, project demands, and business priorities through analytical capabilities. The IT operations Manager should also have Strong budgeting, inventory, and cost-management skills not to mention exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. The IT operations Manager should also be able to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.

The Role
The Role of the IT Operations Manager is to plan, organise, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation and support of the organisation’s fixed and mobile IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting and optimising key functional areas, particularly IT support and facilities, desktop, mobile, network, server, data and telecommunications infrastructure. The IT Operations Manager also manages the staff responsible for supporting and administrating the equipment and services.

The role will be split between Strategic Planning, Acquisition and deployment and Operational Management and some of the essential requirements are:

Extensive direct work experiences an IT operational role, supporting end-user communities and mission critical systems.

In depth experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows XP, 2003, Redhat Linux, Citrix.

Demonstrated progressive experience in the management of a technical support team.

Strong leadership and personnel/project management skills.

Excellent understanding of the organisation’s goals and objectives.

Exceptional knowledge of computer hardware, including Dell and Cisco

Experience installing network cabling and patching telephony systems.

Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, switches, PCs, laptops and printers.

Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles.

Knowledge of applicable data privacy Practices and laws.

Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.

Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies across a wide variety of areas, including vitalisation and managed services.

Strong familiarity and technical competence with asset management software and/or inventory-tracking systems.

Knowledge of contract, licensing, and data privacy regulations/laws and best Practices.
